Life After Ground Zero by George Escalante is a powerful true story of resilience, healing, and hope.

Born in El Salvador, George’s childhood was upended when his family was forced to flee to the United States after an assassination attempt on his father’s life. From the culture shock of starting over at six years old, to the struggles of adolescence and a battle with alcoholism, George’s journey came to a pivotal point as a member of the rescue and recovery teams at Ground Zero after 9/11.

Facing trauma head-on, he rebuilt his life with purpose and faith. Today, George serves as head chaplain for local police, fire, and dispatch departments, a resiliency coach for medical staff, and a sought-after trainer in wellness and professional development. Life After Ground Zero is a moving testament to the strength of the human spirit and a guide for anyone searching for hope after hardship
